Can't get started

Frost is lovely on a picture postcard but not when you're playing golf.

Scenic Point, AR

This place lives up to it's name. On Hwy 7 and overlooking the Buffalo River Canyon, you can see the state of Missouri (if it wasn't hazy) just over my left shoulder. Nice view for sure.

Quick Conficker Worm Infection Test

Unless you live under a rock and haven't listened or surfed the news lately, you undoubtedly have heard of the infamous Conficker Worm (aka Downup, Downadup and Kido) that is invisibly living on thousands of computers.
Now I don't purport to be a computer security professional, but I read and follow a couple of some pretty smart pros. Bill Hely is one of those pros and authors a security blog http://computerandonlinesecurity.com that I read regularly. He provided a link to a quick test for possible Conficker infection. And I'm re-publishing it for you here: http://www.confickerworkinggroup.org/infection_test/cfeyechart.html. Once you visit the page, the results are displayed and explanations given.
It isn't a thorough check or a substitute for a good anti-virus tool, but in this generation of wanting everything fast, it can at least give you a measure of comfort.

Easter and The Masters- A Real Celebration

This year is a little bit unusual with the collision of two of my favorite major rite-of-spring holidays on the same weekend. April 12th is Easter Sunday but also my other favorite, The Masters golf tournament, the final round will be played today too! Two celebrations for the price of one. We'll worship and adore the glorious, risen King Jesus in the morning and also cheer a newly crowned king at Augusta National later in the day.

And if a celebration is not enough, how about the wonderful colors of the day? You have all the pretty pastel-colored dresses and hats at church but then the there's the awesome colors of the azaleas, dogwoods and pine trees in Georgia. A feast for the right brain and the eyes to be sure. Today is my first day of Spring and I say goodbye to old man Winter, at least here in St. Louis.

So here's wishing everyone a very Happy Easter!

Consistency in golf isn't always a good thing

On the golf course, how many times have you heard how important consistency is? Well after my third consecutive round this past month of an 88 last Monday, I can say that I'm pretty tired of consistency and ready for something else.
Admittedly, I've played three strange courses in some pretty windy conditions that has affected my scores upward, but I also know that there is some work on my game left to be done. A lot of work to be done actually. But that's OK since our golf league (http://www.cfgolfleague.com) starts this Monday. I'll get some work in. I just wish I felt better about where my game is. Imagine if I had to do this as a living? How do those guys do it every day?
